A recent cybersecurity threat has been identified involving Microsoft Teams. According to a recent report, cybercriminals are exploiting Teams to conduct vishing (voice phishing) attacks.
Here’s what’s happening:
Hackers are initiating an “email bomb”, bombarding users with hundreds of spam messages, followed by deceptive calls through Microsoft Teams, pretending to be tech support.
They manipulate victims into downloading remote access software, such as AnyDesk, which allows them to gain control over the victim’s system and execute malicious commands.
Always verify the identity of the person contacting you. Our team at Network Coverage will never reach out to initiate a new support ticket via Microsoft Teams.
Never download or install software based on unsolicited requests.
If you receive any suspicious emails or calls, you should report them immediately.
Your vigilance and cooperation are crucial in protecting your organization from these sophisticated threats.
